Most people nowadays worry about their weight since being obese is the number one health risk. You can use the following formula to calculate your Body Mass Index:
BMI =
(weight in pounds * 703 )
--------------------------------
height in inches²
Remember to square your height in inches before dividing it into your weight multiplied by 703. To use a BMI calculator, go here: BMI Site. An example: A male person 5' 10" tall should weigh a maximum of 175 pounds to be considered as normal weight. A male person 5' 10" tall should weigh less than 210 pounds which is overweight but not obese. Women who are 5' 10" need to use a different formula whereby 120 pounds is normal weight and over 170 pounds is considered obese.
