Many people near Baltimore do not realize there is a great bicycle and walking trail where the NCR railroad used to be. It is 41 miles long from Ashland road in Cockeysville to York, Pa. Many stopping points along the way are available for vehicle parking where you can begin another ride, such as in Parkton, Md. which is our favorite. Many animals such as deer, beaver, squirrels, many birds and even snakes can be seen, especially in the mornings. You can stop at the Mason Dixon line before getting to a town named Railroad, Pa. where there are many trains on display. Once you pass Hanover, Pa., there is a country store where you can relax and have a bite to eat. Our longest bike ride was a total of 32 miles (16 out and back).
