A workbench couldn't be without an oscilloscope and was lucky to find a friend who was selling one inexpensively. They are extremely popular and can be found on E-Bay for as little as $100 all the way to $600, depending on the seller. Well made probes can be found on E-Bay also. It is a Tektronix 2235 (AN/USM-388 Military version) which is ideal for any work bench since it has 2 channel delayed triggered sweep, 2 milivolt sensitivity and lightweight. As a trouble shooting instrument, it has solved many problems being able to use the dual trace to compare similar units or trace through complicated circuits.
